Old is Gold, it is a famous proverb. It means that whatever is old is actually valued as gold. In-fact people or things, that are old, are really precious. In case of people they are experienced and in case of things, they are usually purer and useful. We can make our lives easier and from good to best by caring and valuing our older ones.
New trends, new discoveries and new inventions are really valuable. All these are the result of our struggle and efforts. These can lead our lives towards progress and keep us on the pedestal of glory. If we think in a somewhat deeper way, all this is the result of the hard-work of our elders. No invention can occur baselessly and no discovery can be made without previous efforts. So, no bright present can be formed without a hard and glorious past.
It is a fact that we learn more with experience and personal practice. It is also right that our present experience or learning is based on our past body of accumulative knowledge, gathered through a longer period of time, efforts and hard work. We cannot gain new information without any baseline knowledge. So, the value of the past treasure of knowledge cannot be overlooked.
The process of life is crucial, with new trends and new information. All is valuable, we cannot degrade new creations. A lot of practice and effort is there involved. In future, these must be considered as a valuable past. We must appreciate any positive and valuable new trend, that is good. In the same way, we must appreciate the good of the past.
Every age has its own specialties. If we see our plays and songs of some years back, we find a big volume. May be more serious thoughts and efforts are involved. It does not mean at all in present the good work is not there. Short cuts and easy ways are not always successful. Some thoughtfulness and some serious efforts are required in all periods of time.
We must take full benefit from our past and then try to build our own new world on our glorious past, in every field of life. In this way, we can make our lives better and we can also improve our image and our surroundings.
